时间:2015-01-28

第九届亚澳火灾科学技术大会(9th Asia-Oceania Symposium on Fire Science and Technology (9th AOSFST))将于2012年10月17-20日在安徽合肥召开。

9th Asia-Oceania Symposium on Fire Science and Technology

17-20 October, 2012, Hefei,China

The State Key Laboratory of Fire Science (SKLFS) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), is preparing to host 9th Asia-Oceania Symposium on Fire Science and Technology (9th AOSFST). The 9th AOSFST will be held on October 17-20, 2012. This symposium is held by the Asia-Oceania Association for Fire Science and Technology (AOAFST) which is under the International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS). The Symposium is the premier fire safety science meeting in the Asia-Oceania region and has been organized since 1992 by AOAFST. The two most recent symposiums were held successfully in Hong Kong and Australia in 2007 and 2010 respectively.

The 9th AOSFST will include invited lectures from the world’s top fire science researchers and presentations of peer-reviewed papers. Symposium activities will begin on evening of Thursday, 17 October with a Welcome Reception. Poster sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to interact individually with researchers about their most recent work. In addition to the technical sessions, numerous social activities are planned, which will provide opportunities to informally meet with colleagues and friends.

Established in 1958 to meet the needs of the nation, USTC is located in Hefei of China. Hefei is an ancient city over 3100 years old, and has been developing rapidly to a modern city. The birth of USTC was regarded as a major event in the Chinese history of education and science. Since then, USTC has been firmly devoted to basic research and original innovation in order to cultivate talent and capacity for dealing with key issues in China’s development of science and technology. Despite twists and turns over the years, it has achieved great successes and created a unique approach to higher education that is the most suitable for the situations in China. Its impressive accomplishments have been praised by many people in the academic world.

The State Key Laboratory of Fire Science (SKLFS) has a long tradition of conducting outstanding fire research and providing comprehensive education in fire safety. SKLFS carries out frontier basic and interdisciplinary researches that combine state-of-the-art knowledge and approaches of chemistry, physics, mechanics, thermo-physics (heat transfer, combustion, etc.), information science, computer science, electronics, automation and material science to investigate fire dynamics and basic principles of fire safety technologies. has a long tradition of conducting outstanding fire research and providing comprehensive education in fire safety. Research of Interest

The symposium is intended to disseminate and discuss peer reviewed scientific research focused on fire science and engineering. You are invited to submit a contribution that advances scientific understanding and presents or advances new ideas on any topic in the entire spectrum of fire safety science. See the list of topics below. Papers and poster abstracts will be accepted on the basis of their quality and originality in the science of fire safety and its applications. Refer to prior symposium proceedings for further information on the scope of contributed papers (http://www.iafss.org/publications/aofst/info/).

Requirements

Papers: Must be original work. The same paper must have not been submitted to another forum.

Style: All papers must be in English. Detailed information for authors on style, including paper length, format, etc, and a paper template are available at the Symposium website (http://aosfst.csp.escience.cn/), also linked at the IAFSS website (http://www.iafss.org).

Oral Presentation: Oral presentation of the paper at the Symposium must be made by an author

Symposium Topics

  • Fire physics and Chemistry
  • Fire and Smoke modeling
  • Human/fire interactions
  • Fire statistics and risk assessment
  • Fire safety design and code
  • Structure response to fire
  • Fire properties and testing methods of materials
  • Suppression, Detection, and Smoke Management

Submitting Your Full Paper

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, beginning 1 March 2012 through the Login button on the homepage of the symposium website (http://aosfst.csp.escience.cn/).

The submission deadline for papers is 30 April 2012. Papers submitted after 7 May 2012 will not be considered. Papers submitted between 30 April and 7 May will be reviewed, however, timely submissions will be given preference in determining acceptance.

All accepted and presented papers will be included in the symposium proceedings, which will be published electronically by the journal of Procedia Engineering on the Elsevier ScienceDirect system. All papers will have DOI’s assigned and will be part of the CrossRef system, including citation indexing. All papers are expected to be indexed by Scopus and EI Compendex. Also the index by the ISI-CPCI (Conference Proceedings Citation Index) is expected. This assures the best possible dissemination of the contributions and assures that citations of the papers will be fully recognized.

Submitting Your Poster Abstract

A Call for Posters will be issued with poster abstract requirements. Posters may describe work in progress, or completed projects. To assure the inclusion of recent research, the submission deadline for poster abstracts is 30 May 2012. Poster abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Committee.

Review Process

Full papers will receive at least two independent peer reviews. Reviewers will be allocated by members of the Technical Committee. Final acceptance or rejection of a manuscript will be made by the Symposium Technical Committee. Authors for full papers and posters will be notified of the Technical Committee’s decision by 30 June 2012. Notification will include reviewers’ comments, detailed style guidelines for the final version of the paper for publication, and the deadline for delivering a final version in which all reviewers’ comments have been addressed.
