两个学术报告的题目和摘要如下:

Cause investigation for various fires

and accidents by high sensitive heat flux meters

High sensitive calorimeter, such as C80, MS80, TAM, ARC, d-ARC and APTAC are very useful to do cause investigation for fires and accidents by various materials, energetic materials to

bio-mass fuel, which produce very small heat.

We did many type materials, hydroxylamine, organic peroxide, RDF, RPF.

We also used them to evaluate biomass fuels.

Major Damages in Chemical and Oil Complexes

after 2011 Tohoku Earthquakes of Japan

The March 11th earthquake of 2011 in the Tohoku area of Japan has alerted the entire world to the danger of earthquakes.

This paper gathers information on destruction associated with several chemical and oil complexes on the Pacific

coastline, which may provide primary data for future analysis and assessment.

After huge earthquakes, several chemical and oil complexes faced to the Pacific Oceanwere

badly damaged.

(1) In Sendai, the JX Oil Refinery and Zenno Oil Terminal had several oil tank fires in their oil storage facilities.

(2) In Kashima, Sumitomo Steel Co. had a gas holder fire.

(3) In Chiba, a refinery operated by Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd., 17 LPG storage tanks were totally

burnt or heavily damaged in the refinery.

Five BLEVEs ( Boiling liquid expanding vapor explosions) of LPG occurred, resulting in fire

balls measuring 400 meters in diameter.

(4) Oil tanks in Fukushima area were also damaged by tsunami.

Here mainly addresses the major damage of the Chiba refinery of Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd.,

in which the overview of the accident and size and height of fireballs from oil tanks were

reported.
